ABOUT ME
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow under the supervision of Dr. Emily Impett. Broadly, my research focuses on applying social psychological theories and research to better understand romantic relationship satisfaction and maintenance.
I am particularly interested in how situational factors and partner dynamics influence the association between relational well-being and common relationship experiences. I focus on negative relationship processes that can be costly for relationships (e.g., relational boredom, sexual rejection) and positive processes that can be rewarding (e.g., self-expansion, shared leisure activities) in considering what leads to the most successful relationship maintenance. I argue that the impact of these experiences on relationship quality is not solely determined by whether they are generally positive or negative but also by how individuals perceive them and the specific contexts in which they occur.
My work is informed by various theoretical perspectives, analyzed with advanced statistics, and shared using open science practices.
